The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) aligns with companies to set emissions reduction targets in line with limiting global warming to 1.5°C or well-below 2°C. A trajectory outlines the pathway for absolute or intensity-based emission reductions over time, benchmarked against SBTi’s sectoral or cross-sector methodologies. This ensures that decarbonisation plans are approved as science-based and aligned with international climate goals.
